| Story Brother's, Inc. |
Story Brother's, Inc. was started in 1950 by Joseph and Alexander Story as a two bay gas station and
repair shop with a bait and tackle store on the side. It was started with a $500 loan from Alexander's mother-in-law. The business
was literally built with Story family hands. The lifts were installed in 1950, and the building still had a dirt floor until August
of that year. The Story's were not given any notice as to when the concrete company was coming to install the floors. As a result,
many tools were buried when the floor was poured because the concrete moved faster than the tools could be picked up. The towing
department was added in 1963. At that time there was only one truck, where there are eight in service today. In 1969, Joseph Story
passed away and the current owner, Robert Story, took control of the business in 1971, after his father Alexander's death. In 1972,
a large addition was put onto the building adding many bays and bringing the facility to its current size and configuration. Today,
Robert co-owns the business with his daughter, Kris. Over the years the business has grown to include a multi-bay repair facility
for both mechanical and body work in addition to selling gasoline and offering twenty four hour towing services.
